DS26/27: Dashboard Week Day 2 - Tobacco Use in the USA

by Andy Kriebel

Confession #1...I forgot to post the data set for day 1. Total fail on my part. Thank you Coach Carl for saving the day! The team did a great job with the limited time they had.

One of the things we discussed during their presentations was focusing on an analytical exercise or focusing on a nice looking dashboard. So for day 2, they'll focus on analysis and Friday will focus on design.

Rules:

  1. Must work alone
  2. Can use either Alteryx or Prep (if needed at all...remember that you can do some data prep inside Tableau)
  3. Must write a blog post before presentations
  4. Must publish to Tableau Public
  5. Presentations at 3pm

As mentioned, the project for day 2 will focus on analysis. I want to see what insights they can find in the data. I want to see lots of questions asked. They may not have answers or any useful insight...that's ok; it's part of the analytical process. Remember that analysis can also mean ruling things out. So show me the questions you tried to answer, show me how you approached the analysis and show me what you came up with. Again, having a question and it not being very insightful or not finding something interesting is still analysis.

Confession #2...I hate smoke!
