This week was our first client project! We also got to grips with using APIs and web scraping using Alteryx. We also had our first taste of training from home, but returned to the office on Thursday and Friday.

Monday: we kicked off our project with the client call at 9am. As this was our first project, it was an internal one, with Carl acting as our stakeholder for the week. After discussing the project and requirements with Client Carl, we had a group planning meeting. The rest of the day was devoted to the project, and getting to grips with the data we had been given.

Tuesday: in the morning we had our first session on APIs with Ollie. APIs are connections between computers and/or programmes, which allow you to interact with them. In our case, we were using APIs to download data in Alteryx, and then parsing out the resulting JSON.

In the afternoon, we had more project time, and started to shape the direction we were going to take our dashboards in.

Wednesday: we spent the day learning webscraping with Nick. This involved taking the URL and using the download tool in Alteryx to extract the HTML code from the website. We then used Regex to extract the bits we needed.

Thursday: in the morning we had a session with Claire on mental health awareness, and some of the resources available to us. We then spent the rest of the day on our project, and started to figure out the flow of our presentation as a group.

Friday: we had the whole day for our project work, as our presentations were pushed back to Monday. We therefore had more time than usual to do practice run-throughs and get feedback from members of the core team.
