I recently booked my Tableau Data Analyst exam. As someone with dyslexia, who has often relied on extra time for formal exams, I decided I wanted to see if I could get extra time for this. Trying to organise this through Salesforce turned out to me much more stress than it needed to be, so I decided to write down the steps that worked in order to help my fellow DSers:
Step 1:
Create a trailhead academy account.
Step 2:
Once your account is created, click on the top corner and go to your Trailhead Academy Account. Once on this page, scroll down to exam accommodations.
This is where I struggled. it took me so long to figure out how to get from here to actually speaking to the accommodations team.

From here, click on Request Accommodations.

Step 3:
This will open up Agentforce, an AI chat bot. This is where I struggled, as each message I sent gave me the same automatic response (very frustrating).
Eventually, I put the prompt “I need support” and Agentforce was able to point me in the right direction. My final prompt was
“I am taking the tableau data analyst certification exam and want support accommodations”
Step 4:
This resulted in the chat bot opening a case for me with the Certification Exam Accommodations team, and they sent the following email:

Personally, I had not heard of needing a signed doctor's note for dyslexia… I decided to hope for the best and use the documentation I did have. For me, this was a very long report diagnosing me with dyslexia from sixth form (10 years ago). I attached this to my reply, along with a description saying I wanted extra time.
It worked! The next day I received an email saying I will receive “60 minutes of additional time for any Salesforce regular multiple choice exam”.
Side note: I did not try to get extra time for the Alteryx Certification exam. This is free and you can retake it every week if you don’t pass.
