Aaron Holstein

Aaron studied empirical social sciences in Halle (Saale), Mainz and Tromsø in which he developed multivariate statistical models to answer research questions.

Early in his studies he became fascinated about deriving readily understandable knowledge from seemingly opaque datasets. He gained hands-on experience in several analytical data projects. He complemented his passion for data with certifications in Data Science, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Data Engineering and Python. He has since enjoyed giving structure to unordered data processes and immersed himself into Data Engineering where he is currrently specialising in dbt. Being curious and creating ever more refined knowledge from data are driving forces which let him continuously learn new knowledge and skills.

His great curiosity shows in his free time as well where he is active in several sport activites such as skating and SUP or discovering new places and bike routes.

Short Term Projects

Client: Telecommunications Company

This project built new analytical structures from scratch with the following goals in mind: 1) to consolidate existing analytical approaches into a concise architecture, 2) provide the basis for insights service region for the first time. Instead of adhoc and custom solutions data consumers can rely on standardized procedures such as a common mart layer for future data analysis. The main areas of this project included designing data models, sourcing and transforming new data sources over different stages, continiously delivering new KPIs for the common mart layer and establishing analytics engineering best practices in dbt.

Workshop Support: dbt Essentials

Supporting participants pro-actively through the course, solving error messages, debugging issues during hands-on exercises, explaining meaning and scope of dbt commands.

Client: Analytics Company

The first project migrated analytical solutions from Tableau to Power BI thereby accurately reproducing structure and preserving existing logics where applicable or rebuilding from scratch in other areas. The second project build highly specialized Tableau Dashboard solutions to compare performances over different production sites in the area of electric power transmission.

Client: Insurance Company

Project Manager responsible for coordinating tasks, translating business requirements into development directions and meeting all client's requests. This project delivered a comprehensive re-design for a clear and easy to follow UI making trend overviews and detailed analyses quickly accessible.

Client: Aviation Company

Working with survey data and complex data structures this project delivered a concise analysis over multiple possible bottlenecks along the customer service chain. The interactive design empowers the user for a variety of follow-up analyses dynamically comparing multiple factors on customer satifcation against each other.

Client: Retail Company

Providing the client with customer based profitability analysis with a clear overview at a glance enhanced with a consistent toolkit for detailled drill-down analyses.

Client: Analytics Software Company

Harnessing the enhanced capabilites of specialized analytical extensions for dashboard development.
