Elaine Yuan

Elaine Yuan, equipped with a B.A. in Psychology and Elementary Education, taught English in Taiwan and Japan before returning to her hometown of New York City. Seeking a fresh challenge, she discovered data analytics (and Tableau!) through a bootcamp program. Now at The Data School, Elaine is excited to organize data and glean insights through data visualization.

In her first internal placement, Elaine enhanced and future-proofed a suite of three dashboards for the non-profit organization Splash to attract funders and government support. She also supported enablement efforts by delivering Tableau and Alteryx webinars and producing materials to prepare users for the Alteryx certification exams.

In her second placement at Fremont Bank, Elaine automated the commercial loan reporting process, by preparing a user-friendly data extract on Tableau Server and developing 12 wireframes for stakeholders to monitor trends regularly and independently, which saved ~75 hours of manual work a month and increased data accessibility by 650%.

In her free time, Elaine enjoys playing board games, trying new foods and cuisines, browsing her local Buy Nothing group, and planning her next travel excursion.
