James Gastaldello

James brings a strong foundation in problem-solving and analytical thinking from his MEng in Mechanical Engineering at Durham University. His academic career taught him the importance of deeply understanding a problem's foundation before building a solution, a principle he now applies to ensure that data insights provide real, meaningful value. Inspired by the book Thinking, Fast and Slow, he is passionate about creating data narratives that account for how people process and interpret information, making complex insights more accessible.

Having been raised in three different countries, James has a unique international perspective that allows him to appreciate diverse viewpoints and the nuances of data interpretation. This experience fuels his desire to act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring ideas are translated effectively.

Outside of work, James embraces a holistic, healthy lifestyle. As a keen sportsman, he enjoys both playing and following various sports, from his national-level swimming days to university American football and, most recently, completing his third Étape du Tour de France. He also finds a creative outlet in cooking and art, drawing inspiration from his international upbringing to recreate exotic flavours from memories.
