Zaman Bilal Iqbal

Zaman’s journey to The Data School began during his time at Queen Mary, University of London, where he gained a BSc in Economics. The statistical and analytical components of his degree, along with the projects he worked on sparked a strong interest in data, motivating his move toward a career in Data Analytics.

Since joining The Data School, Zaman has gained hands-on experience delivering analytics solutions across a wide range of sectors. He has worked on projects in elite sport, transportation, finance, education, and higher education publishing, as well as supporting a major telecommunications provider through a long-term analytics engagement. Through these projects, he has developed strong expertise in Tableau, Alteryx, SQL and Power BI, building interactive dashboards, designing automated data workflows, and applying advanced querying and data modelling techniques to solve real-world problems and help organisations make informed decisions. He has also delivered Tableau and Alteryx training to both data & non-data professionals to enrich their skillsets. He is also actively strengthening his Python capabilities, with a keen interest in Analytics Engineering and end-to-end data workflows.

Outside of work, Zaman is an avid follower of sports—particularly football—and enjoys playing Football, Padel, Badminton, Snooker and Cricket. He regularly reads non-fiction to expand his knowledge and has a passion for cooking, a skill he developed while helping run his family’s restaurant.
