Where to save Macros? - Alteryx Tiny Tip

by Chris Meardon

If you are regularly using your own Macros across different projects and you’ve found it difficult to keep track of them, then this one is for you.

Creating a folder in place you can easily access (i.e. the G Drive for DSers) for your macros allows you to centralise any non-project-specific macros into one place. Then you can take this a step further by making this folder easily accessible within Alteryx.

If you go to Options → User Settings → Macros, you can add a file path to a folder of macros. This will add a new group of tools in your Alteryx Designer application (typically if you scroll far to the left). Selecting this group will allow you to see any macros within this folder and easily add them to your workflow.
