Lisa Hitch

Lisa is a Solutions Consultant at The Information Lab in NYC with a strong focus on coaching the new generation of data consultants. In her current role, she trains consultants in Tableau, Alteryx, and SQL, while also building consulting skills that drive long-term success - including presenting insights, stakeholder communication, and time and project management. She mentors consultants through client engagements and oversees eight week-long projects, helping them translate technical skills into confidence and real-world impact.

Her coaching is grounded in her hands-on consulting experience. Prior to moving into a coaching-focused role, Lisa worked directly with clients across the financial industry, helping teams find business insights with Tableau, automate workflows using Alteryx, and optimize data models through SQL. She also brings a strong foundation in biostatistics, with experience using statistical tools such as R and SPSS.

At Capital Markets at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Lisa delivered more than 18 hours of workshops, hosted weekly Tableau office hours, and provided over 50 hours of 1:1 support. She built 7 dashboards for stakeholders across the business and advised on best practices for Tableau Server management, documentation, and maintaining lean, scalable workbooks. She led similar enablement initiatives for a hedge fund, leading both group and individual Tableau training and assisting in the migration of 7 reports from Excel to Tableau, saving more than 350 hours of manual data updates annually.

At Wells Fargo, Lisa optimized Tableau workbook performance at the database-level using SQL joins, ETCs, and filtering. She built dashboards focused on SLA performance, customer language preferences, a trusted data source exploration tool, and a reusable Tableau dashboard template in close collaboration with business stakeholders and analysts.

Lisa's background in public health and biostatistics informs her approach to data consultancy, particularly her focus on decision-making and responsible data use. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Community Health at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health, where her research focuses on the adoption of Generative AI in health contexts.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys flying trapeze, traveling, and finding the best cup of coffee in NYC.
