When I worked in retail, I found 2 views to be pretty important: how are we doing this month compared to this month last year , and how we are “rolling up” for the year (year to date performance). The first view gives us context on how we are performing given seasonality and the second view allows us to see how we are performing against targets. Wouldn’t it be great if we could flip between both views on a dashboard?

Step 1: Create the Parameter
Step 2: Create a Logic Statement connecting the parameter to sales view
Step 3: Drop your logic statement onto rows and date onto columns … then you should be good to go!
