Tableau Next - First Impressions

First Impressions of Tableau Next

I recently had the chance to try out Tableau Next and as a regular Tableau user, Some of the new features are pretty exciting and I enjoyed how intuitive the platform is becoming.

What stood out straight away?

A cleaner, more modern UI

The interface immediately felt fresh. Everything looks sharp and easy to navigate, which makes working with dashboards and data feel nice and smooth. It’s a welcome balance of familiarity and innovation.

The new data table builder

I found the data table builder pretty cool. Having an action panel gives you some nice options that can make it easier to understand what’s happening behind the scenes.

Agentforce concierge

This one is really interesting. Having an AI-driven companion built in could be really useful for people that are maybe less familiar with data and lack the support to get to grips with it.

Metrics and auto insights

The metrics updates are another highlight. Seeing auto-generated insights appear directly within the tool was really nice to see. This can really help to provide those quick, impactful insights that we all love so much.

Final thoughts

Overall, my first impressions of Tableau Next are really positive. It feels modern, responsive, and forward-looking. The updates make it easy to work with data while also unlocking a few new ways to explore it. I’m excited to see how these features evolve and how they could be implemented!
