At a career day in Hamburg, I got talking to an employee of The Information Lab Germany. She enthusiastically introduced me to the concept of The Data School and gave me a flyer. She invited me to a casual meeting in the evening where I could meet some of the team and the founder Tom Brown from UK was also there.

It took some doing on my part to go to this meeting. But for me as a career changer it was a great opportunity. I could personally convince myself whether the first impression was genuine or just very good advertising. What can I say, the evening went very well.

The application process was now the next hurdle. In addition to the classic documents, an initial visualization in Tableau Public is required. I did a lot of research and was quickly unsure whether I could manage it. But during the entire application process, I was able to turn to the team, I was always helped and there was even a small free workshop. Especially the feedback was worth its weight in gold and I improved my skills in no time. I am happy that my courage was rewarded and I am now part of the new DSDE3 cohort since 07.06.2022.
