Dungeons and Dragons in Tableau: Character Sheet and Dice Rolls

I am an avid Tabletop Gamer, but in all my years of playing I have only gotten one Dungeons and Dragons character to level 20. Ouroboros (lovingly nicknamed 'Oreos') brought me to the end of a several year long adventure, and I wanted to commemorate him and his (slightly busted) build.

The most challenging element of making the Tableau dashboard was determining how to represent the various stats that made the character who he was.

In the end, I decided to use an excel file with two sheets: one (pictured above) for the character sheet itself, and a second one for a random table of dice rolls.

Each of my dimensions was categorized as a "Type of Thing" so that I could filter individual Tableau sheets to that "Thing" such as Ability Score.

This allowed me to easily add more to the file when I needed more details.

The second table I made was a collection of random numbers for 'dice rolls'

The dice roll is actually pulling a singular row of the dice roll table by index. When the dashboard action runs, it adds one to the index, simulating a dice roll!

For Ouroboros' attacks, I simply made a calculated field that added the necessary modifier.

There is still a lot more that could be done with magic items, switching weapons, and and rolling saving throws, but it was a fun mini-project to celebrate level 20.
