Makeover Monday - 2021/wk21

This Makeover Monday was focused on animals and what percentage of women and men feel capable of beating in an unarmed fight. The dataset and original visualisation was from YouGov and looked like this:

I liked how it showed the difference between the male and female values but found that it was lacking a story line and further information.
So I started by looking at the chart and what I found most interesting about it. I wasn't surprised that for most animals, men were more confident in their ability to beat them. I noticed that this wasn't the case for the Lion though. That was my first interest point.
Other than that I also thought the differences between the values was interesting - because it speaks to the confidence of men and women.
And there it was. That was going to be my angle.

To make it a bit more interesting (and funny) I formulated a (arguably) funny title.
I wanted to give the whole dashboard a slightly more edgy look and decided on a darker colour scheme and punchy KPIs focusing on those interesting points I picked out earlier - really driving the key insights.
