Today's Workout Wednesday involved making progress bars. Progress bars are a simple and effective way to show progress towards a goal/target. In this example, you plot department-wise progress towards a target (100%).
The total is made by creating a DAX Measure simply consisting of "Total=1" and converting that to a %. You can then drag Department to the Y Axis, and Target achieved and Total onto the X-axis (making sure the order of these are right). Then, you format the bars to make sure they overlap, making sure to have the target bar behind the progress bar.
We also learnt how to make the bars seem to have curved edges by using error bars and changing the marks to circles. Make sure to alter the bar sizes to make the bar seem seamless!
