Sometimes data contains URL's which might link to an image or a website. For this we can add an action to our dashboards or even workbooks so that when you select a URL it displays the image (or website).

I am going to use data that looks at boardgames so that I can show you how this works. This is shown below:

First lets just create a simple table to show the URLs.

Next lets add this to a dashboard. Now this is added to dashboard we can add an action so it goes to the URL. For this we want to be able to select on a link (by clicking) and show us in tableau. Because of this we come out of our action and add webpage to our dashboard. (The reason I went back into the action was so that I could copy the image path so it was spelt correctly and written the same as it was in my action). Now the webpage has been added we can see this error with the URL, this is because we haven't currently selected anything. So now when we select a URL we can see that it add the image into tableau.
