A first impression of Tableau Prep

Hello everyone, I am Tobias and part of the new Data School Germany cohort (DSDE 5). First week of training is in the books. And after two days of an information storm the dust has finally settled a bit and we got the opportunity to get our hands dirty for the first time. Tableau Prep was the program of choice (not our choice) and our coach Peter let us of the leash after a brief introduction. And oh boy did I enjoy using it. You can start by easily connecting to your different data sources. The interface is also highly intuitive and you can then effortlessly prepare your data with just a few clicks. You can follow how your data looks after every step and alter it anywhere even when you are finished. It makes prepping data actually FUN. Something I never knew I will ever say, but hey, here we are and I love it.

Note that TABLEAU is not paying me to say this. This post is actually not an ad.

Cannot wait to see what else TABLEAU PREP has in store for us after just scratching the surface. Feel encouraged to try out new programs. Maybe you find gold :).

Cheers, Tobias
