Prior to The Data School, Ollie studied Ancient History at Exeter University and, during his 3rd year, chose to study Mandarin in Beijing, China. After graduating, Ollie spent some time back in China teaching English before coming back to the UK to work for a tech start-up where his main responsibilities centred around product design and video production.
Having long regarded data as the key to solving problems and making decisions, he decided to make it the new focus of his career and taught himself Python, SQL and Tableau. He thoroughly enjoyed the unorthodox application process for the DS and now feels lucky to be part of such a supportive environment, surrounded by many talented and conscientious individuals.
In his spare time, Ollie enjoys creative pursuits such as photography and filmmaking, hiking over mountains and along coasts, and will happily try his hand at most sports.
